Telefunken | USA presents the U 47 American Elite, a meticulous recreation of the classic tube microphone featuring the new VF14K vacuum tube. The VF14K represents the first newly machined metal envelope tube presented by Telefunken USA. Manufactured in the United States, the VF14K tube functions exactly like the original VF14 and features the same sonic and electronic characteristics found in the classic Telefunken tubes.
Built entirely by hand in Connecticut (USA), the U 47AE microphone system comes complete with a new Telefunken USA VF14K tube, custom built BV8 transformer and newly manufactured M7 capsule. The microphone also comes with a historically correct NG model power supply, heavy duty shock mount, wooden microphone box, custom 10 meter Gotham Audio cable, owners manual, and a fully-transferable lifetime warranty.
Since its development in 1946, the ubiquitous Telefunken U47 has been the microphone of choice for generations of recording engineers. Instantly recognizable from the Beatles to Frank Sinatra, the Telefunken U 47M is a microphone with an indelible character, smooth in-your-face presence and undeniably punchy tone, which sounds wonderful on any signal source, from violin to vocals. For those of you familiar with the classic U 47, the Telefunken U 47M will be immediately recognizable. For those who have not yet had the pleasure of recording with a U 47, the Telefunken U 47M may be an enlightening experience.
