cmc122g-set
CMC122g Set

The Schoeps CMC122g Set is a modular Colette microphone that joins a miniature CMC 1 U amplifier with an XLR-3M output to an MK 22 capsule. The MK 22 has the Open Cardioid pickup pattern, which lies between the classic cardioid and the wide cardioid.

Schoeps describes the pattern as an optimal combination of directionality (MK 4 cardioid) and warm sound characteristics (MK 21 wide cardioid). The highly consistent polar diagram across the frequency range gives natural sound quality. It is popular as a spot or soloist's microphone, as the mid microphone for M/S, or as a main microphone pair, for example at a spacing of 21 cm and an angle of +/- 55°.

The CMC 1 U is about one-third the length and 53% lighter than the CMC 6, and it runs on 48 V or 12 V phantom power at very low current consumption. Both parts come in a matte gray finish.
