cmc15g-set
CMC15g Set

The Schoeps CMC15g Set is a modular Colette microphone that joins a miniature CMC 1 U amplifier with an XLR-3M output to an MK 5 capsule. The MK 5 switches between omnidirectional and cardioid patterns, so one capsule covers two pickup patterns.

Pattern switching is purely mechanical, via a sliding lever on the side of the capsule. The MK 5 is a true one-diaphragm system, and its cardioid setting maintains its directivity even at the lowest frequencies. Schoeps says it can be used in nearly any situation and is often suggested as an initial acquisition.

The CMC 1 U is about one-third the length and 53% lighter than the CMC 6, and it runs on 48 V or 12 V phantom power at very low current consumption. Both parts come in a matte gray finish.
