cmit-5uag
CMIT 5Uag

The SCHOEPS CMIT 5 U is a shotgun microphone with a lobe-shaped pickup pattern that is the same in the vertical and horizontal planes, so the sound stays consistent even when the microphone rotates on its axis. Its directionality increases smoothly with higher frequencies, and off-axis sound falls away softly and steadily, which keeps it neutral and reduces the effects of boom movement.

Three pushbutton filters let you adapt it to the recording situation: high-frequency emphasis to help speech intelligibility and offset the loss caused by windscreens, a steep low-cut filter against wind and boom noise, and a gentle low-frequency rolloff to compensate for proximity effect. LEDs show the filter status, and the settings are retained when the microphone is switched off.

Capsule and amplifier are built as a single unit in a very lightweight, robust all-metal housing. Beyond dialogue work, the CMIT 5 can also be used for music recordings, for example opera recordings.
