stereo-set-1l8
Stereo Set 1L8

The Schoeps Stereo Set 1L8 is a stereo pair of modular Colette microphones. Each of the two complete microphones combines a miniature CMC 1 L amplifier with an MK 8 capsule, and the capsules are selected and matched. The CMC 1 L is the variant of the CMC 1 with a miniature Lemo output connector.

The MK 8 is a pure dipole whose figure-eight pattern remains constant from low to high frequencies. Schoeps points out that the capsule is comparatively sensitive to solid-borne sound as well as wind and breath noise, so good protection such as suitable wind screening or shock mounting should be considered.

The CMC 1 amplifier is about one-third the length and 53% lighter than the CMC 6. It operates on 48 V or 12 V phantom power and has very high immunity from RF interference with the SCHOEPS RFI Shield.
