Description

The AEA R92 is a thoughtfully designed ribbon microphone created for capturing rich, natural sound at close distances. Built around AEA’s signature ribbon heritage, it delivers a full and balanced tone that feels warm and detailed without becoming overpowering up close. Its compact, side-address design makes it easy to position in tight spaces, while its smooth character helps tame harshness and bring out the musicality of the source. Whether used in a studio or live setting, the R92 feels purposeful and intuitive, encouraging creative mic placement and experimentation.

What sets the R92 apart is its versatility and personality. The microphone offers two subtly different tonal flavors depending on which side is used, giving engineers and musicians a simple way to shape sound at the source. This makes it especially appealing for electric guitar amps, drums, brass, vocals, and other instruments where control and character matter. Handcrafted with care and attention to detail, the R92 reflects AEA’s long-standing commitment to classic ribbon sound while adapting it for modern, close-miking applications.
