Description

The RME Fireface UCX II is a feature-rich, ultra-compact USB audio interface designed for professional studio and live applications. With its advanced connectivity, pristine audio performance, and powerful DSP capabilities, this interface delivers 40 simultaneous channels of audio, all in a portable half-rack unit. Equipped with high-quality SteadyClock FS jitter reduction, DURec direct USB recording, and fully DC-coupled outputs for modular synth integration, the UCX II is a versatile solution for any audio setup.

On the front panel, you’ll find two XLR/TRS combo mic/line inputs with digitally controlled preamps, two additional line/instrument inputs, and a headphone output with dedicated control. The rear panel expands the connectivity with balanced line I/O (8 in/8 out), ADAT, AES/EBU, SPDIF, word clock, MIDI I/O, and USB 2.0, plus a USB port for standalone direct recording via DURec which makes it perfect for location sound, live recording, or rehearsal capture without a computer.

The UCX II also comes bundled with TotalMix FX, RME’s real-time DSP mixer offering flexible routing, multi-channel monitoring, built-in effects (EQ, dynamics, reverb, delay), and complete remote control via TotalMix Remote. It functions seamlessly on macOS and Windows, with Class Compliant mode for use with iOS devices. Additional tools like DigiCheck provide in-depth metering and analysis, making it a trusted companion for critical listening and system diagnostics.
