Audeze Maxwell 2 ANC Brings Planar Magnetic Sound to Active Noise Cancellation

Studio Economik |

Audeze releases the Maxwell 2 ANC today, adding adaptive hybrid active noise cancellation to its planar magnetic gaming headset platform. Available in PlayStation and Xbox versions, the Maxwell 2 ANC is designed for gaming, spatial audio production, communication, and focused listening in noisy environments.

The headset uses 90 mm Audeze planar magnetic drivers and maintains a consistent frequency response with active noise cancellation switched on or off. This gives listeners tonal consistency without the noticeable change in character that some noise-cancelling systems can introduce.

Adaptive Hybrid Noise Cancellation

The Maxwell 2 ANC uses Audeze’s most advanced noise reduction system to date. Its adaptive hybrid design targets steady low-frequency noise and broader environmental sound, helping reduce distractions from computers, ventilation systems, crowded gaming spaces, and esports venues.

Transparency mode remains available when outside sound needs to be heard. Users can move between isolation and environmental awareness without changing headsets, while sidetone provides control over how much of their own voice they hear during communication.

Planar Magnetic Drivers with SLAM Technology

Audeze equips the Maxwell 2 ANC with its full-range planar magnetic driver system. The large 90 mm drivers are designed to deliver precise imaging, low distortion, and detailed reproduction across games, music, and professional audio applications.

SLAM technology supports deeper bass extension and greater low-frequency impact. The result is improved definition and dynamics in effects, music, and cinematic content rather than simply an increase in bass level.

Head Tracking for Spatial Audio Work

An upgraded chipset expands the headset’s head tracking capabilities with automatic self-calibration. This improves setup consistency for spatial audio monitoring and supports applications such as Dolby Atmos Renderer, Fiedler Audio, and APL Virtuoso.

The feature gives audio professionals and content creators a practical wireless monitoring option for immersive formats, while gamers can benefit from more stable spatial positioning in compatible applications.

Connectivity and Communication

The Maxwell 2 ANC supports PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, macOS, Android, and iOS, with console compatibility depending on the selected version. It also supports simultaneous wired and Bluetooth audio, transparency mode, adjustable sidetone, FILTER AI background-noise reduction for voice communication, and self-calibrating head tracking.

A ventilated headband and spacious earpads are designed to improve comfort during longer gaming, listening, and production sessions. The ability to combine wired and Bluetooth sources is useful for users who need game or production audio from one device while receiving calls or communication from another.

The Maxwell 2 ANC launches today, bringing Audeze’s planar magnetic driver technology, active noise cancellation, spatial head tracking, and multi-device connectivity into one headset.
