The Lauten Audio KICK Mic (LS-608) is a purpose-built condenser microphone designed to deliver punchy, mix-ready bass drum sound right from the source. It's crafted specifically for internal placement in bass drums, offering a smart solution to common kick capture problems.

Traditional microphones often lose their polar pattern definition at low frequencies, which leads to unwanted reflections, muddiness, and phase issues. The KICK Mic counters this with a custom KC608 capsule, featuring a 17mm diaphragm inside a 40mm rear-vented housing. This unique design retains directional focus down to 50Hz, keeping your low-end tight and defined.

From the first strike, the KICK Mic reacts instantly to beater impact without becoming overly aggressive or harsh. Lauten Audio’s Air Coupling Modes help manage internal turbulence, preventing buildup and letting the mic breathe naturally with the drum. This gives players and engineers that sought-after “chest-thump” feel in live and studio settings.

Tailored for flexibility, its integrated filter system includes a high-pass for punchier mids and a low-pass for taming high-frequency bleed. Whether you're sculpting a classic rock boom or a modern metal slap, tonal adjustments can be made quickly—no outboard gear needed.

The KICK Mic also rejects off-axis bleed from drums and cymbals, cutting back on the need for gates or phase correction. Its compact build and locking 180° swivel mount make positioning simple, even in tight kick ports, and it’s compatible with most internal drum mounts. On the road or in the studio, it delivers consistent sound thanks to durable, tour-ready construction.
