Shure expands its portable audio lineup with the MVX2U Gen 2, a single-channel XLR to USB-C digital audio interface built for creators who record or stream across desktop and mobile devices. This compact interface allows you to connect a dynamic or condenser XLR microphone directly to Mac, Windows, iOS, or Android devices using USB-C power.
Designed for streamlined setups, the MVX2U Gen 2 removes the need for external power supplies. It operates entirely through USB-C bus power, making it suitable for desktop workstations, mobile recording rigs, and travel setups.
Flexible Connection Options
The MVX2U Gen 2 supports two connection styles. It can plug directly into an XLR microphone, or it can be used inline with an XLR cable. This flexibility allows it to fit into different recording environments while keeping cable runs simple.
With up to +60 dB of adjustable gain and 48V phantom power, the interface supports both low-output dynamic microphones and condenser microphones. This makes it compatible with a wide range of studio and broadcast XLR mics.
The unit features an all-metal housing and weighs just 100 g, keeping it compact and durable for portable use.
Onboard Digital Audio Processing
The MVX2U Gen 2 integrates digital signal processing directly into the interface. These processing tools run with zero latency and can be configured through Shure MOTIV desktop and mobile apps.

- Auto Level Mode with selectable Dark, Natural, or Bright tone profiles
- Real-Time Denoiser for reducing background noise in speech applications
- Digital Popper Stopper for controlling plosives
- Adjustable EQ, compression, limiter, and high-pass filter
Processing settings are stored directly on the device, helping maintain consistent sound when switching between devices.
Monitoring and Audio Performance
A built-in 3.5 mm headphone output provides zero latency monitoring, allowing you to hear the microphone signal in real time. Monitor Mix settings can be adjusted in the MOTIV apps to control the balance between live input and playback.
