Solid State Logic has released SSL 360 2.1, bringing native Harrison 32Classic Channel Strip integration along with useful workflow updates for UC1, UF1, UF8, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and the SSL Plug-in Mixer.
The update focuses heavily on tighter communication between SSL hardware and the DAW, reducing the need to jump between control layers during a mix.
Harrison 32Classic Comes to SSL 360
The Harrison 32Classic Channel Strip is now fully integrated into SSL 360 rather than simply being hosted through SSL 360 Link. UC1 controls are automatically mapped, with dynamics metering and EQ curves available in the SSL 360 environment.
SSL has also created a dedicated UC1 skin for 32Classic, giving users direct access to its EQ, compressor, gate, and variable attack controls from the hardware.
Better Pro Tools and Logic Pro Control
Pro Tools users can now see track names up to eight characters long on compatible SSL controllers, along with Pro Tools track colours on UF8 and UF1 displays.
Solo and cut commands now communicate directly with Pro Tools tracks, and hidden tracks are respected by the UC1 and Plug-in Mixer.
Logic Pro receives a larger integration update through a new OSC connection. Track selection, track colours, solo, cut, and visible or hidden track states can now stay synchronized with SSL 360.
UF8 users can also control Logic send levels from the V-Pots, mute sends, and flip send levels onto the faders.
More Control From the Plug-in Mixer
SSL 360 2.1 continues expanding the hybrid workflow between the Plug-in Mixer and normal DAW control layers. UF1 and UF8 can access more HUI, MCU, and keyboard commands without leaving the Plug-in Mixer.
The Plug-in Mixer also gains eight assignable virtual soft keys, additional zoom options, and direct access to automation modes in supported DAWs.
Meter Pro now supports loudness CSV logging and can follow the selected DAW track.
Updating to SSL 360 2.1
SSL recommends updating SSL 360 and compatible plug-ins through the SSL Download Manager, then installing any available firmware updates for connected controllers.
For SSL controller users, version 2.1 is a practical update that makes the system feel more closely tied to the DAW while adding a very different channel strip option through Harrison 32Classic.
