Capture Ideas with LUNA Play
Getting a part recorded should be straightforward, especially while you are still working out a song. LUNA Play approaches recording with the simplicity of a voice memo app, automatically detecting your instrument, setting levels and suggesting presets with UAD plug-ins.
You can use it to capture original ideas or isolate tracks from a song and play along. This makes it useful for trying out a guitar part, developing a vocal melody or getting a rough arrangement down while the idea is still fresh.
Work with Stems, Chords and Lyrics
LUNA Studio includes six-track stem separation, audio-to-MIDI conversion, and chord extraction and lyric transcription powered by Moises. These tools give you more ways to work with recorded material throughout the writing and production process.
Stem separation splits a song into individual elements, making it easier to focus on specific parts. Chord extraction helps identify the harmonic structure of a recording, while lyric transcription lets you navigate a session using the words of a vocal performance. Tempo detection allows LUNA to follow your playing, helping you develop ideas around a performance’s timing.
Hardware inserts are also included, allowing outboard equipment to become part of your processing workflow.
Build Arrangements with Included Instruments
The instrument collection covers acoustic piano, organ and synthesizer sounds. Ravel Grand Piano and Waterfall B3 Organ sit alongside Opal Morphing Synthesizer and PolyMAX Synth, providing a range of starting points for arrangements.
LUNA Studio also includes Celemony Tonalic Essential, Synthesizer V Studio 2 Core and ChordAXE Lite. For vocal pitch correction, the package provides both Topline Vocal Tune and Celemony Melodyne essential.
Guitar recording is covered by Showtime ’64 Amp, Ruby ’63 Top Boost Amp and Woodrow ’55 Instrument Amp. These offer several amp sounds to work with as you build a production.

LUNA Studio includes a substantial selection of UAD processors for shaping tone, controlling dynamics and adding space. The API Vision Channel Strip Collection and Century Tube Channel Strip provide channel processing options, while the Pultec Passive EQ Collection brings another approach to tonal shaping.
Compression options include the Teletronix LA-2A Tube Compressor, 1176 FET Compressor, Fairchild Limiter Collection and API 2500 Bus Compressor. Having these different designs available gives you choices for handling vocals, instruments and buses across a mix.
Pure Plate Reverb and Galaxy Tape Echo cover reverb and delay, while Brigade Chorus, Studio D Chorus and Waterfall Rotary Speaker add movement and texture. Vibe Analog Machines and Oxide Tape Recorder expand the available saturation options.
Bring Tape and Console Character into the Mix
LUNA Extensions integrate tape and console emulations into the DAW’s mixing environment. The included extensions cover the API Vision Console Channel Strip, API 2500 Bus Compressor, API Summing, Studer A800 Tape Recorder and Ampex ATR-102 Master Tape.
These tools let you build a mix around API channel processing and summing, then use Studer and Ampex tape emulations to add warmth and cohesion. Their integration keeps these choices close to the everyday work of balancing tracks and shaping buses.
Connect Your Recording Setup
LUNA Studio’s support for any audio interface makes it accessible without requiring a change of hardware. If you use an Apollo interface, the integration adds the ability to track through preamp and guitar amp emulations, monitor with UAD plug-ins in real time and manage routing within the recording workflow.
The package also includes Noiseworks VoiceAssist Basic and Steinberg SpectraLayers Go for audio cleanup, plus Steinberg WaveLab Go for mastering. These additions extend the toolset beyond recording and mixing to the preparation and finishing stages of a project.
