Description

The Genelec 8020DRW is a compact 2-way active nearfield monitor that combines striking industrial design with precise, uncolored sound reproduction. Housed in Genelec’s signature Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) made of raw die-cast aluminum, the 8020DRW is built not only for durability but also to eliminate unwanted resonances and edge diffraction. This results in a wide and balanced sweet spot, making it an ideal choice for professional studios, broadcast suites, or mobile production environments where space is limited and accuracy is essential.

Equipped with a 105 mm (4") woofer and a 19 mm (¾") metal dome tweeter, each powered by a dedicated 50 W Class D amplifier, the 8020DRW delivers a maximum SPL of 100 dB and a frequency response of 56 Hz to 25 kHz (-6 dB). Genelec’s Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW™) ensures controlled dispersion and consistent imaging, while onboard Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS™) technology automatically powers down the monitor when idle, reducing energy consumption without compromising convenience.

This monitor also features manual room response controls for optimizing performance in different acoustic environments and overload protection circuits for safe operation at high levels. With a compact footprint and a weight of just 3.2 kg, the Genelec 8020DRW offers powerful, transparent, and energy-efficient monitoring it is crafted to meet the demands of today’s audio professionals who rely on truthful sound for every critical decision.
