The Maxwell 2 is Audeze’s bold refresh of its already highly regarded wireless gaming headset, bringing meaningful improvements across the board. This isn’t just a minor update, it’s a complete overhaul, focusing on elevating sound quality, enhancing comfort, and expanding connectivity in ways that directly respond to user feedback. Available in two models, Maxwell 2 for PlayStation and Maxwell 2 for Xbox, this headset delivers a tailored experience for each platform while offering broad compatibility across Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch. The standout addition is Audeze’s patent-pending SLAM™ acoustic technology, which delivers noticeably deeper bass and more immersive spatial audio. Originally introduced in the company’s flagship CRBN2 headphones, SLAM now makes its way into gaming, giving players a more vivid and powerful soundstage. Combined with 8th-generation 90mm planar magnetic drivers, users can expect high-resolution clarity with minimal distortion, no matter the game or genre.

On the microphone front, Maxwell 2 makes big strides with upgraded FILTER™ AI noise suppression. Now offering double the bandwidth of the original, this tech ensures that both internal and boom mics deliver cleaner, clearer voice pickup, ideal for team chat or streaming. A multi-mic beamforming array helps isolate your voice while cutting out background noise with a single button tap. Maxwell 2 also improves communication comfort by allowing you to monitor your own voice using sidetone, now with reduced noise floor and easier adjustment.

Another major enhancement is its simultaneous connection capability. Maxwell 2 can play audio from Bluetooth and either USB or AUX at the same time. This allows gamers to stay connected to their phone for calls or chat while still fully immersed in gameplay. Whether you're playing on console, PC, or mobile, switching between sources feels seamless thanks to an automatic priority system. The included USB-C wireless dongle has also been refined for better RF performance and ultra-low latency, making lag a non-issue.

Comfort has also received attention. The new suspension headband is wider and features ventilation for long-term wearability, while the ear pads have been redesigned for more space and a better seal. Both the pads and the outer earcup covers attach magnetically, making customization and replacement fast and easy. Audeze is planning limited-edition drops and support for 3D-printed cover designs, giving users the chance to personalize their gear like never before.

A new Audeze app rounds out the feature set, offering control over EQ presets, firmware updates, and mic settings. It’s available on desktop (Windows, macOS) and mobile (iOS, Android) and supports both Maxwell 2 and the original Maxwell. The app is fast, intuitive, and designed with gamers in mind.

Maxwell 2 is available in dedicated versions for PlayStation and Xbox, and both models are fully compatible with Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch. With over 80 hours of battery life and fast USB-C charging, the headset is built for extended sessions without interruption.

All told, Maxwell 2 represents a thoughtful evolution of an already excellent headset. It brings sharper sound, better comfort, smarter features, and a clear focus on giving gamers more of what they need, without getting in the way.
