Barco has announced it will acquire VerVent Audio Holding, the parent company of Focal and Naim Audio. Barco is a Belgium-based technology company known for its visualization and display solutions across entertainment, enterprise, and healthcare markets. VerVent, headquartered in France, operates as a premium audio group with brands focused on hi-fi, professional audio, and custom installation.

The acquisition is valued at approximately €135 million, or about $155 million USD, and will be financed using Barco’s own funds. VerVent generates around €110 million in annual revenue and will be integrated into Barco’s Entertainment division once the transaction is completed.

Through VerVent, Barco will add a range of audio categories to its portfolio, including loudspeakers, studio monitors, headphones, immersive and active audio systems, as well as OEM solutions for automotive and marine applications. The group also has a presence in custom installation and home theater systems.

Barco indicated it will continue to support VerVent’s existing strategy. This includes maintaining a focus on premium audio positioning, advancing development in digital, active, and connected products, refining the product portfolio, and expanding sales channels across both consumer and professional markets.

The company also noted that integrating Focal and Naim aligns with its broader goal of combining sound and image into unified audiovisual systems. The addition of high-fidelity audio is intended to complement Barco’s existing expertise in visual technology across residential, entertainment, and professional environments.

No specific product changes or updates were outlined as part of the announcement.
