Montreal Audiofest returns this year starting March 20 to 22 at the Hotel Bonaventure, offering visitors a relaxed and informative way to explore high-quality audio systems. Located in room 2333, this space provides an open listening environment where no appointments are needed.
This year, a key highlight is a complete system built around SPL electronics, offering insight into signal control, crossover management, and power amplification in a unified setup. Visitors can explore how each component contributes to overall system performance in a real listening space.
The system features the SPL Director MK2, a DAC and preamplifier designed for precise signal handling and control. It is paired with the Crossover MK2, which allows for accurate frequency distribution between speakers and low-frequency systems. The Performer s900 power amplifier completes the chain, delivering consistent output and stability across a variety of listening conditions. Together, these components illustrate a structured approach to building and managing a high-performance playback system.
Complementing the electronics, Amphion loudspeakers will be used to demonstrate the system’s output. The Amphion Two18X studio monitors, each paired with the BaseTwo25 low-frequency extension system, provide full-range monitoring with controlled directivity and extended bass response. This combination allows listeners to hear how the SPL system translates across the frequency spectrum with clarity and balance.
