The sE Electronics X1A 2C 25th Anniversary Edition microphones are available in two limited finishes, Red with Black and White with Black. These versions mark a milestone for the X1 A series while maintaining the same core design and performance that has made the model widely used in recording setups.
At the center of the X1 A is a precision-tuned condenser capsule designed to deliver a balanced frequency response with consistent detail. This makes the microphone suitable for a range of sources including vocals, acoustic instruments, percussion, and guitar amplifiers.

The microphone includes practical controls that support different recording situations. A switchable -20 dB pad allows handling of high sound pressure levels, which can be useful when placing the mic close to loud instruments like drums or brass. A 100 Hz low-cut filter helps reduce low-frequency noise such as handling rumble or proximity effect during close-miking.
The integrated windscreen is built into the design to reduce plosives and protect the capsule, removing the need for an external pop filter in many cases. The all-metal chassis provides shielding against electrical interference while supporting long-term durability. A gold-plated XLR connector is included for consistent signal transfer.

Each microphone comes with a mic clip and thread adapter, allowing quick setup on most stands. It is also compatible with accessories such as the sE Isolation Pack and Reflexion Filter series for expanded recording setups.
In terms of physical specifications, the X1 A measures 58 mm in diameter and 168 mm in height, with a weight of 390 g. It requires standard 48V phantom power supplied by an audio interface, mixer, or microphone preamp.
The 25th Anniversary editions differ only in appearance, offering a choice between a bold red finish or a clean white finish, both paired with black grilles and a commemorative badge.
