The Soyuz 011 FET Matched Pair is a stereo set of small-diaphragm condenser microphones designed for precise stereo recording with consistent tonal balance and performance between both microphones. Each pair is carefully matched to ensure nearly identical frequency response, sensitivity, and overall sonic character, making them ideal for stereo recording techniques such as XY, ORTF, spaced pair, or drum overhead configurations.
At the core of each microphone is Soyuz’s custom 19 mm gold-sputtered capsule, manufactured in-house and engineered to deliver a focused low end, smooth midrange, and clearly defined top end. The result is a detailed yet musical sound that captures subtle nuances without sounding harsh. The microphones use a transformerless FET circuit, providing fast transient response and low noise while preserving warmth and natural tone.
The 011 FET Matched Pair offers a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, a cardioid polar pattern, and a sensitivity of 19 mV/Pa, ensuring accurate and consistent capture of instruments and acoustic spaces. With a maximum SPL of 130 dB, along with the included -10 dB inline attenuators, the microphones can handle both delicate sources such as strings or acoustic guitar and louder sources like drum kits or percussion.
Compact and lightweight, each microphone measures 91 mm in length with a 19 mm body diameter and weighs 76 grams, making them easy to position in tight setups or complex stereo arrays. The Soyuz 011 FET Matched Pair is well suited for applications such as drum overheads, piano, orchestral recording, acoustic instruments, choirs, and room microphones, providing detailed stereo imaging and musical clarity for both studio and live environments.
