The Fostex TH910 is a premium closed-back headphone that combines advanced acoustic engineering with traditional Japanese craftsmanship. As part of the evolution of the TH900 series, the TH910 builds upon the reputation of its predecessor while introducing a redesigned driver, improved materials, and a refined structure to deliver a more detailed and immersive listening experience.
At its core is the newly developed 50 mm BioDyna driver, designed to provide high resolution sound with a smooth and natural tonal balance. The updated diaphragm edge improves amplitude stability, producing tight, controlled bass while minimizing unwanted resonance. This design allows the TH910 to reproduce music with clear mids, powerful low frequencies, and extended, refined highs, preserving both depth and detail across a wide frequency range.
The headphones feature solid hard maple housings finished with traditional Japanese “Urushi” lacquer, created in collaboration with artisans from Sakamoto Otozo Shoten. The distinctive foil pattern combines a black lacquer base with sulfur smoked silver foil, producing a striking appearance while maintaining the acoustic neutrality of the dense maple wood. This careful material selection helps deliver a rich low end and clear, extended high frequencies without adding unwanted coloration.
Comfort and durability are enhanced through the use of lightweight magnesium alloy mechanical components, which reduce weight while maintaining strength. Newly shaped ear pads with a dual layer urethane structure and silk protein synthetic leather provide improved comfort and durability during long listening sessions. The headband and head pad are finished with natural sheepskin for a soft, secure fit.
With a 25 ohm impedance, 100 dB sensitivity, and a frequency response from 12.5 Hz to 45 kHz, the TH910 offers detailed, dynamic audio reproduction suited for critical listening. The headphones include a high purity OFC detachable cable and a protective pouch, making them a refined choice for listeners who value both exceptional sound quality and premium craftsmanship.
