The AEA N22 is an active near-field ribbon microphone from AEA’s NUVO Series, designed for close-up recording in both studio and live environments. Its side-address design and figure-of-8 pickup pattern make it well suited for capturing instruments and vocals with a natural, balanced character. The N22 delivers the familiar smoothness of a ribbon microphone while maintaining clarity and presence at short distances, helping sources sit comfortably in a mix without heavy processing.

Designed to work easily with a wide range of audio interfaces and preamps, the N22 supports straightforward setup and consistent results across different recording spaces. As part of the NUVO Series, it reflects AEA’s modern approach to ribbon microphone design while staying grounded in traditional ribbon sound.
