Description

The Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 4th Gen is a USB audio interface designed for project studios that need extensive connectivity, professional sound quality, and reliable recording performance. Featuring eight 4th Generation Scarlett microphone preamps with up to 69dB of gain and premium converters derived from Focusrite's RedNet range, it delivers detailed recordings across a wide range of sources. With 18 inputs and 20 outputs, including analogue, ADAT, SPDIF, MIDI, and Word Clock connections, it serves as a powerful hub for integrating microphones, instruments, external processors, and digital equipment into a complete studio setup.

Intelligent workflow features such as Auto Gain and Clip Safe help maintain clean recording levels, while the re-engineered Air mode adds extra presence or rich harmonic character to vocals and acoustic instruments. Flexible monitoring options include dual independent headphone outputs, A/B speaker switching, a built in talkback microphone, low latency routing, and comprehensive control through Focusrite Control 2 software and its companion mobile app. The interface can also be expanded with additional ADAT inputs and outputs for larger recording sessions, and includes a comprehensive collection of music production software to help you record, produce, mix, and master with confidence.

Features

Studio Recording Inputs
Record vocals, guitars, drums, synths, and other instruments through a flexible set of audio inputs.

Auto Gain
Set recording levels quickly without guesswork. The interface listens to your performance and chooses a clean level.

Clip Safe
Protect your recordings from harsh distortion. The interface can lower input gain when a signal gets too loud.

Air Modes
Add extra presence and character to vocals and instruments. This helps recordings sound clearer and more polished.

Independent Headphone Mixes
Create separate headphone mixes for different performers. This makes it easier for each person to hear what they need.

Speaker Switching
Switch between two sets of monitor speakers from the front panel. This helps you check how your mix sounds on different speakers.

Talkback
Speak to performers through their headphones using the built-in talkback mic. This makes studio communication simple.

Loopback Recording
Record computer audio directly into your recording software. This is useful for streaming, podcasts, sampling, and screen recording.

Standalone Mode
Use the interface without a computer after setup. This is helpful for simple routing, live setups, or expanding another system.

Control Software
Manage routing, mixes, presets, and device settings from Focusrite Control 2. It gives you clear control over how audio moves through the interface.

Pro Tools Intro+ for Focusrite
Create music with essential audio and MIDI tools, plus a wide selection of effects and instrument plugins.

Ableton Live Lite
Start making music with instruments, effects, and creative tools for building ideas and performances.

Cubase LE
Record, arrange, and produce songs with a streamlined music production workspace.

Splice Sounds
Access a large library of royalty-free sounds, loops, and presets for adding fresh ideas to your projects.

Hitmaker Expansion
Create polished vocals, guitars, synths, and drums with a collection of studio-style production tools.
