Description

CEDAR ADA is a versatile stereo A/D and D/A converter designed to bridge the gap between analogue and digital audio systems while integrating seamlessly with CEDAR hardware processors. Housed in a compact 1U rackmount chassis, it converts analogue stereo signals into high-resolution digital audio and transforms incoming digital signals back into analogue, making it an ideal companion for restoration, dialogue processing, broadcast, and studio workflows.

Created to support products such as the CEDAR Series X, Series X+, DNS processors, and Cambridge systems, the ADA offers exceptional flexibility with both professional and consumer connectivity. Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs and outputs allow it to fit comfortably into a wide variety of production environments, while support for AES/EBU and S/PDIF digital formats simplifies integration with modern and legacy equipment. User-adjustable input and output levels help accommodate different signal standards, making the unit suitable for everything from studio installations to archival restoration systems.

The ADA supports audio conversion at up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution and offers multiple synchronization modes, including Master, Slave, Auto, and Auto Lock, allowing it to adapt to complex digital audio setups. With dynamic range exceeding 110dB on the A/D stage, selectable word lengths, built-in calibration functions, and reliable clocking options, it delivers accurate and dependable audio conversion for professional applications. Its combination of sound quality, flexibility, and straightforward operation makes the ADA a practical solution for connecting analogue and digital workflows while maintaining the integrity of the original audio signal.
