Description

The RME AoX-MADI-EXT-BNC is an expansion board designed for the RME HDSPe AoX PCIe audio interface, providing additional MADI connectivity through BNC coaxial connections. It replaces the standard RJ45 MADI ports on the HDSPe AoX card with professional BNC connectors, allowing integration with systems and equipment that use coaxial MADI infrastructure.

The expansion board adds four BNC connectors for MADI input and output, enabling high-capacity digital audio transmission over coaxial cables. Depending on the sample rate, it supports up to 128 channels at 48 kHz, 64 channels at 96 kHz, or 32 channels at 192 kHz, making it suitable for demanding studio, broadcast, and live production environments. Alongside the MADI connections, the board also includes a BNC word clock connector that can function as either an input or output, ensuring reliable synchronization with external digital audio systems.

Designed specifically for the HDSPe AoX interface, the AoX-MADI-EXT-BNC integrates directly with the card’s existing architecture, maintaining RME’s reputation for stable, low-latency digital audio performance. By adding coaxial MADI connectivity, it provides a flexible solution for facilities that rely on MADI networks for large channel-count routing, recording, or distribution.
