Description

The Sanken COS-7D Lavalier Microphone delivers exceptional sound quality in an ultra-compact, discreet design, making it an excellent choice for film, television, broadcasting, live performances, and studio recording. Developed as a smaller companion to the acclaimed COS-11D, the COS-7D features a flatter, smoother frequency response that captures voices and musical instruments with impressive clarity and natural detail. Its omnidirectional pickup pattern provides consistent sound reproduction, while its extended 50 Hz to 30 kHz frequency range makes it versatile enough for both speech and music applications.

Measuring just 0.76 inches (19.4 mm) long and featuring a slim 1.6 mm cable, the COS-7D is designed for easy concealment and discreet placement without compromising audio performance. Sanken's proprietary vertical diaphragm design helps protect against moisture, while the specialized PPS diaphragm provides excellent stability in changing humidity and temperature conditions. A built-in three-layer windscreen minimizes wind noise, pops, and sibilance, helping maintain clear, natural audio in demanding recording environments.

The COS-7D also features high output, low self-noise, and a wide pickup area, making it suitable for traditional lavalier use or discreet placement as a plant microphone. The included horizontal clip helps maintain separation between the microphone and clothing to reduce unwanted rustling and contact noise. Available in black, grey, beige, and white, and designed for compatibility with a wide range of wireless transmitters and accessories, the Sanken COS-7D combines outstanding audio performance with the flexibility needed for professional sound capture.
