Description

The Franklin Audio DI-80 is an 8-channel passive, transformer-coupled direct box designed to keep studio and live setups clean, organized, and ready for everyday use. Regular instruments and machines can stay connected through the rear panel, while the front-panel inputs make it easy to plug in a guest instrument, borrowed synth, bass, guitar, keyboard, or drum machine whenever needed. When a front input is used, it automatically takes priority over the rear connection, making quick changes simple without disrupting your usual setup.

Housed in a rugged 1RU rack enclosure, the DI-80 offers eight channels of clean, high-headroom passive DI performance with transformer-balanced XLR outputs for sending signal to an audio interface, mic preamp, or mixing desk. Each channel also includes a through connection, allowing the original signal to be sent onward to an amplifier or parallel processing chain. With all routine I/O kept neatly at the back and label-friendly space on the front, it is a practical, tidy solution for studios, rehearsal rooms, and live rigs that need reliable multi-channel DI connectivity.

Front Inputs Override Rear Inputs
Plug a temporary instrument into the front panel and it automatically takes priority over the rear connection. Your regular setup stays ready while guests and one-off sources are easy to add.

Rear Panel Everyday Connections
Keep your main instruments and studio wiring connected on the rear panel. This keeps the rack clean, organized, and out of the way.

Eight Passive DI Channels
Capture up to eight instruments through passive direct inputs. It is built for synths, keyboards, drum machines, guitars, basses, and other studio sources.

Transformer-Balanced Outputs
