Description

The DirectOut EXBOX.MD is a compact and highly capable Dante to MADI converter designed to bridge modern audio networks with established digital audio infrastructure. Built around Audinate’s Dante technology, it enables seamless conversion of up to 64 audio channels, making it a practical solution for live sound, broadcast environments, and studio setups where flexibility and reliability are essential. Its rugged housing and small footprint allow it to fit easily into mobile rigs or fixed installations without adding complexity.

Designed with versatility in mind, the EXBOX.MD offers multiple MADI connection options including optical, coaxial, and SFP, along with four network ports supported by an internal switch. This allows for straightforward integration into redundant Dante networks or expanded systems. As highlighted on page 2, the unit supports up to 32 audio streams and includes AES67 compatibility, ensuring smooth interoperability across different audio networking standards. 

Operational stability is a key focus, with features like FastSRC enabling low-latency sample rate conversion when working across different clock domains, and EARS providing automatic redundancy switching to maintain uninterrupted audio. Combined with remote control via Dante Controller and globcon, along with flexible power options including dual supplies and PoE, the EXBOX.MD delivers a dependable and adaptable solution for professionals who need consistent performance in demanding audio environments.
