The Schoeps Colette KC 10 is a 10-meter active extension cable designed for placement between a Colette-series microphone capsule and its amplifier. It contains active electronics for capsule impedance conversion, allowing the capsule to be positioned remotely from the amplifier while maintaining reliable signal transmission.
With a diameter of just 3 mm, the KC 10 is thin yet robust and tear-resistant, making it well suited to discreet microphone installations and suspended setups. Its special torsion-resistant sheath helps a hanging cable maintain its orientation even as ambient temperatures rise. Because signal transmission to the microphone amplifier is asymmetrical, cable lengths should remain below 10 meters.
