Description

The MUTEC MC4 is a versatile multichannel digital audio format and sampling rate converter designed to bridge professional and consumer audio systems with exceptional flexibility. Supporting ADAT, AES3, and S/P-DIF interfaces in a single compact unit, it enables seamless format conversion and real time sampling rate conversion at resolutions up to 192.0 kHz, including full SMUX2 and SMUX4 compatibility for high sample rate ADAT workflows. Its advanced clocking architecture, powered by audiophile optimized PLL technology and a high precision internal reference clock, helps regenerate incoming digital audio signals while maintaining stable, low jitter performance across a wide range of studio and broadcast applications. 

The MC4 is designed to adapt to virtually any digital audio workflow, from integrating legacy equipment and standalone instruments to connecting professional consoles, DAWs, and effects processors. Its unique bidirectional conversion capabilities, including the powerful X-SRC mode, allow two independent 8 channel digital audio sources running at different sample rates to be converted simultaneously without requiring an external master clock. With flexible synchronization options, a dedicated AES11 reference input, Word Clock output, onboard 16 channel sampling rate conversion engine, and automatic retention of user settings, the MC4 delivers a reliable and highly adaptable solution for recording studios, live production, post production, and broadcast environments.
