Description

The MUTEC MC8.1 is a high performance multichannel digital audio interface and sampling rate converter designed to convert up to eight channels from AES3id to AES3 with exceptional precision. Along with straightforward format conversion, it can function as a signal splitter or distributor, making it a flexible solution for a wide range of digital audio workflows. Its FPGA-based design supports audio signals from 32 kHz to 192 kHz, while advanced clock recovery and regeneration help maintain stable, reliable signal transmission and improve the performance of connected digital audio equipment. 

The MC8.1 also features integrated sampling rate conversion with multiple synchronization options, allowing it to lock to Word Clock, AES11, digital audio inputs, or its own highly accurate internal reference clock. In SRC mode, its HOLD function maintains uninterrupted audio if an external reference signal is interrupted, providing dependable operation in demanding environments. User settings are stored in non-volatile memory, and the compact half rack enclosure with an international power supply makes installation simple in studios, broadcast facilities, mobile production systems, live sound applications, and other space-conscious installations.

Reference Clock Protection
Automatically holds the last valid reference when an external clock fails, preventing interruptions during critical audio operation.
