The MQ712 is a 500 Series 7-band graphic equalizer that brings a classic analog approach into modern recording setups. Inspired by vintage designs from the 1970s, it uses a “swinging input” topology to deliver a musical and responsive EQ curve that works well across a wide range of sources. Each band offers up to 12 dB of boost or cut, giving you the flexibility to shape tone in both subtle and more pronounced ways, whether you are refining vocals, tightening low end, or adding presence to instruments.

At its core, the MQ712 features custom inductor-based circuitry, with carefully designed components that contribute to its rich and natural sound. The combination of transformer-balanced input and output stages adds a touch of harmonic character, while proportional Q filters help maintain smooth and intuitive adjustments as you boost or cut frequencies. The ability to switch the high and low bands between shelf and bell curves adds further versatility, making it easy to adapt the EQ to different mixing or tracking needs.
