Description

The BETSO TCX-2N is an ultra-compact, highly accurate timecode transceiver designed for ENG, EFP and studio production. Its wireless digital RF link distributes synchronized timecode from a TX unit to multiple RX units, with zero frame drift during RF transmission. Each receiver also functions as a timecode generator, allowing it to continue producing synchronized timecode if the wireless connection is temporarily lost. A wide OLED display, straightforward menu controls and a BNC timecode input/output make setup and day-to-day operation simple.

The TCX-2N supports SMPTE timecode rates from 23.976 to 30 fps, including drop-frame and non-drop-frame formats, plus 0.5x and 2x multiples ranging from 11.988 to 60 fps. Useful production tools include external timecode jamming, cross-jamming between different frame rates, adjustable timecode output level and offset, user bits, wireless device-state monitoring and automatic power-on and jamming when a timecode source is connected. Five wireless channels are available, with an operating range of up to 500 m within line of sight.

Measuring just 59 × 39 × 16 mm and weighing approximately 45 g without a battery, the TCX-2N uses a durable anodized-aluminum-alloy enclosure suited to compact camera and sound setups. It can operate from a single AA alkaline, lithium or rechargeable cell, or from 5 to 20 V DC through USB-C. Battery life can reach up to 80 hours when using a lithium cell with RF disabled and OLED power saving enabled, while adjustable display brightness and power-saving modes help tailor consumption to the job.

Features

Wireless Timecode Sync
Distributes timecode wirelessly between connected units, helping keep devices synchronized across a production setup.

Reliable Sync Without Signal
Receiver units continue generating synchronized timecode if the wireless connection to the transmitter is temporarily lost.

Wireless Device Monitoring
Lets connected units monitor the status of other devices within the wireless timecode network.

Flexible Transmit and Receive Modes
Can operate as a transmitter, receiver, or standalone wired timecode unit to suit different workflows.

Wide Timecode Compatibility
Supports common SMPTE timecode formats, including drop-frame and non-drop-frame operation.

Cross Jamming
Can synchronize from an external timecode source while retaining the frame rate selected on the unit.

Jamming Calibration
Can calibrate itself to an external timecode source during jamming for improved synchronization.

Automatic Power-On and Jamming
Can automatically power on when an external timecode source is connected and begin synchronization without a separate startup procedure.

Adjustable Timecode Output
Allows the timecode output level to be adapted for different connected cameras and recording equipment.

Timecode Offset Adjustment
Lets users compensate for timing differences that may occur with certain cameras and production equipment.

User Bits Support
Can display and generate user bits copied from a timecode source or entered manually.

OLED Display
Provides a clear interface for viewing timecode, user bits, wireless information, battery status, and settings.

Display Power Saving
The display can automatically dim or switch off when inactive to conserve battery power.

Adjustable Display
Offers selectable brightness and screen orientation for easier viewing in different setups.

Flexible Power Options
Runs from a replaceable battery or external power through its USB-C connection.

Battery Monitoring
Displays battery condition and provides warning information when the battery is running low.

USB-C Connectivity
Supports external power and provides a convenient connection for firmware updates.

BNC Timecode Connection
Provides a dedicated connection for timecode input and output.

Compact Metal Construction
Uses a small anodized aluminum body designed for portable production environments.

Simple Menu Control
Provides straightforward button-based navigation for quickly configuring timecode, wireless, display, and other functions.
