The PreSonus CDL12 Constant Directivity Loudspeaker is a professional-grade, active sound reinforcement speaker that merges the best aspects of point-source clarity and line-array coverage. Engineered with a unique patent-pending design, the CDL12 combines a 12-inch woofer with eight 2-inch high-frequency drivers in a circular arc, delivering consistent, articulate sound across a wide 120 degree horizontal by 20 degree vertical dispersion pattern. This hybrid approach ensures even SPL and frequency response on- and off-axis, making it ideal for both single-speaker use and scalable vertical arrays.
Designed for demanding touring and installation applications, the CDL12 supports up to six units in an array and integrates pin-loaded rigging for quick deployment. A dual-angle pole mount makes it adaptable for use atop tripods or subwoofers, while remote configuration and tuning is made possible via Worx Control software. This software provides access to DSP settings like delay, compression, limiting, and an 8-band EQ. With a low crossover point of 420 Hz, comb filtering is minimized for smooth midrange reproduction, even when arrayed.
Powering the CDL12 is a dual Class D amplifier (500W LF + 500W HF) delivering up to 131 dB SPL peak. A locking Ethernet connection enables Dante audio networking, supporting low-latency signal distribution across larger systems. With its rugged 15mm plywood construction, steel grille, and flexible mounting options, the CDL12 offers premium sound quality and professional-grade durability for live events, houses of worship, and performance venues of all sizes.
