The ARC USB is a USB 1.1 MIDI remote control. Thanks to operating as a UAC 1 class device, it is natively compatible to Windows and Mac OS X. As soon as it is present in the operating system, TotaIMix FX will automatically detect the ARC USB and communicate with it via simple MIDI remote commands.
TotalMix FX
Since 2001, TotalMix has added unlimited routing and mixing to RME audio interfaces. Its unique capability to create as many independent submixes as output channels available, turned it into the most flexible and powerful mixer of its kind.
With supported hardware, TotalMix FX includes a complete effects system, which not only adds flexibility to the recording chain, but also makes latency saddled software solutions obsolete.
TotalMix FX can completely replace an external mixer, enabling the creation of multiple latency-free monitor mixes with EQ, Dynamics, Reverb and Delay for any outputs, incl. main monitors and headphone mixes for musicians.
TotalMix FX for iPad App
TotalMix FX for iPad adds full control over hardware mixer and DSP effects for Fireface UCX, UFX, 802 and Babyface, Babyface Pro when in Class Compliant Mode, and lets you create, store and load complete mixes directly from the iPad.

Since I have it I wonder how I could live without it. For its price it is a good tool with TotalMix.

Solid, useful, limited flexibility, good value.
I have one ARC USB for my RME UFX III, and another for my UCX II.
The ARC USB would be more valuable if it were more user-configurable.

Genius controller for a genius system
This controller is such a great idea. Super flexible, very easy to setup, built like a tank, and the way it all works with total mix is great. It makes so much sense? why use an additional monitor controller and add a bunch of extra components in your monitor path after your converter when you can just configure your converter to act as the perfect monitor controller directly.
I wish I'd invested in RME products earlier.

Tellement pratique
J'ai cette manette depuis seulement quelques jours et je m'en sert continuellement. Avoir su qu'elle était à ce point pratique pour une vieille RME Fireface 800, je l'aurais acheté bien avant. En plus du volume principal, l'avantage de pouvoir contrôler un 2e set de haut-parleur (speaker B),
Lire plusle volume des écouteurs ainsi que la possibilité d'écouter en mono à l'aide d'un un simple bouton est vraiment pratique.

Great DAC
The RME DAC is great. I can't say that I hear a difference from my UFX unit, but knowing that I have a top quality DAC for mixing and mastering just eases my mind to never have to wonder if my chain is good enough. I use a UFX into the DAC with AES to Unity Audio Boulders MkII.

-0.5 star because if find the remote is not that great. Useless for my use, really.
Service at Studio Economik is always top notch.

Great - Dramatic improvement to my workflow
This product has improved my workflow dramatically allowing rapid changes from recording to mixing. Wish I knew about it sooner. It is a no-brainer. If you own an RME audio interface, you should own the ARC USB.

Can't believe how long it took me to buy this thing! My workflow is so much more efficient now, the ARC does exactly what you would want in a controller. Make sure you update to the most recent firmware for it to connect properly.
Studio Economik is also number one for customer support,
