3 x Bassoons (solo and ensemble (a2)) a shuddering Contra Bassoon and a Cor Anglais (or English Horn) that will move your listeners to tears. In this volume you will find everything you need to get up and running with the very noble end of the orchestral woodwind choir.

This is a next-gen, deeply sampled library featuring the talents of some of the most in-demand woodwind players in London today. Recorded to tape via the finest possible signal path in one of the finest rooms. This volume contains a selection of essential articulations curated by multi award winning composers and musicians. The module features multiple (UP TO 8) round robins, dynamic layers and easy to use, fully functional legato with control of vibrato. This instalment is sure to will provide the rich colour and scope to your orchestral palette and we hope it will encourage and inspire your best writing.

All players are recorded in-situ making them immediately sit in with any of our other products recorded in the hall at Air Studios whether that be the Albion or Definitive ranges. But with a generous selection of microphone perspectives and mixes to give you the power to generate something more immediate and cerebral.

Background
A beautiful lyrical melody so often gets passed along the line to the woodwinds and so often to the flute players, the oboists and clarinetists. But as Stravinsky stated so clearly with a solitary bassoon in the opening bars of his "Rite" the lower end of the woodwind choir should not be ignored. Something John Williams very much took under his belt for his score for Jaws.

These are like the cellos of the woodwind department and can deliver the most aching emotional material, with the bassoons being possibly the most versatile from haunting melodys, marauding crescendi to comedy parps. The cor anglais, or english horn has also become a much loved melody maker within the film world. With a richer more rounded tone it is often mistaken for an oboe. If its a modern film score and something sounds like an oboe, chances are it's a cor!

Features
The 1st volume features five of the finest players in London today recorded solo with the bassoons recorded solo, then with two other players recorded in unison. They are seated exactly in situ so combine the a2 patches with the solo ones for a slightly larger section whilst maintaining spectral integrity.

This is a deeply sampled library with a selection of essential articulations curated by multi award winning composers and musicians. The library features multiple round robins, dynamic layers and easily usable fully functional legato with control of vibrato.

The library is presented with numerous microphone positions which you can not only mix and blend to fit the application you're working on, but also automate for dramatic shifts in focus and depth. We have also specially commissioned 3 exclusive Jake Jackson mixes of every sample to save you time and system resources. These mixes are specially designed to work in different applications from pop to chamber to epic cinematic and by using these mixes across the BML range you can achieve total mix integrity, just as Jake would do it!
