Shure Launches KSM32C, KSM40C, and KSM44MP Studio Microphones

Studio Economik |

Shure is releasing three new studio microphones today: the KSM32C, KSM40C, and KSM44MP. Each model is designed to meet the demands of modern recording environments, offering reliable performance, clean audio capture, and thoughtful accessory packages. With different pickup options and technical specifications, these microphones give engineers and creators flexible solutions for vocals, instruments, and full studio setups.

The KSM32C/HM and KSM32C/SM is a cardioid condenser microphone built around a precision-engineered 1-inch capsule. It captures natural sound with smooth high-frequency detail and a rich low-end. Its cardioid pattern helps reduce room noise and bleed, making it easier to place in multi-mic sessions or in less-than-ideal spaces. The mic’s self-noise level of 11 dBA and maximum SPL of up to 155 dB (with pad) give it plenty of range for dynamic sources. Lightweight at 265 grams, it’s constructed from anodized aluminum and comes with a shock mount or hard mount depending on the kit, plus a magnetic pop filter, foam windscreen, and carrying case.

Also releasing is the KSM40C, a cardioid condenser microphone that builds on the same capsule technology as the KSM32C, but with a lower self-noise of 7.5 dBA and higher sensitivity of -33.5 dBV/Pa. It captures quiet details with clarity while maintaining a natural tone across the frequency range. The included shock mount, magnetic pop filter, case, and adapter make it ready for professional studio integration out of the box. With maximum SPL handling of 153 dB and a slightly heavier build at 285 grams, it’s ideal for vocals, instruments, and voiceover work where low-noise performance is critical.

Rounding out the trio is the KSM44MP, a dual-diaphragm condenser microphone with selectable cardioid, omnidirectional, and bidirectional polar patterns. This model provides increased flexibility for stereo techniques, ensemble setups, and creative recording approaches. It features the lowest self-noise in the series, just 5 dBA in cardioid, and supports a wide SPL range up to 150 dB with the 15 dB pad engaged. The dual-diaphragm design improves off-axis performance and helps maintain consistent sound across polar patterns. It includes a shock mount with silicone suspension bands, a magnetic pop filter, hard mount, threaded adapter, and a premium case. At 295 grams, it's a solid studio microphone built for long-term reliability.

All three microphones share Shure’s signature all-metal construction, precision-machined grilles, and gold-layered capsules. Each package includes essential accessories to simplify studio integration and help achieve high-quality recordings right from the start.

Shure will be showcasing the KSM32C, KSM40C, and KSM44MP at NAMM 2026 in booth 15608.
