The IGS Audio Vanad 500 is a versatile, character-rich mic/instrument preamp built in the API 500-series format, ideal for engineers seeking vintage tone with modern control. Equipped with Carnhill input and output transformers, the Vanad 500 delivers a warm, harmonically rich sound that enhances everything from delicate vocals to aggressive guitar lines. Designed for maximum flexibility, it features both rear XLR and front-panel Hi-Z inputs, making it an excellent tool for tracking microphones, instruments, or line-level sources with equal precision.

At the heart of the Vanad 500 are fully stepped controls input gain, output level, and a 3-position high-pass filter (OFF/30Hz/100Hz) which allows for accurate, recallable settings ideal for both studio and live use. You can shape tone and manage gain staging easily using the input pad (-30dB to 0dB in 3dB steps) and separate output trim, making it possible to drive the transformers for added color while keeping levels in check. It also features +48V phantom power, phase reverse, and a clear LED bar meter for real-time visual feedback.

With up to 60dB of gain, 18dB of headroom, and a wide frequency response from 8Hz to 20kHz, the Vanad 500 maintains low noise (-99 dBA) and low distortion (THD+N up to 0.2%) while preserving sonic detail. Whether you're tracking vocals, reamping guitars, or adding analog richness to line-level sources, the Vanad 500 brings precision, punch, and musical warmth to any signal chain all in a compact, road-ready 500-series format.
