Description

The Soyuz 013 Ambisonic is a first-order ambisonic condenser microphone designed to capture immersive 360° spatial audio with high fidelity and detailed sonic character. Built for spatial recording, immersive music production, film sound, VR, and advanced stereo techniques, the microphone captures a full three-dimensional sound field using a single microphone body.

At the core of the 013 Ambisonic are four custom large-diaphragm capsules from the Soyuz 013 series. Each capsule features a 25 mm design with a 22 mm gold-sputtered diaphragm, all precision-machined in-house. These capsules are larger than those typically used in ambisonic microphones, enabling a wider frequency response, deeper low-end extension, and more detailed spatial imaging.

The microphone also incorporates four proprietary Soyuz toroidal transformers, which introduce subtle harmonic depth and analog character. This transformer stage adds richness and dimensionality to the captured sound while maintaining the accuracy required for spatial recording.

The 013 Ambisonic records in A-format, which can then be converted into B-format ambisonic audio using the included custom Soyuz plugin suite developed with Audio Brewers. These plugins allow users to decode, rotate, and shape the sound field during post-production, enabling flexible output formats such as stereo, binaural headphone mixes, surround sound, or immersive formats like Dolby Atmos.

With a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, sensitivity of 20 mV/Pa, and the ability to handle sound pressure levels up to 143 dB, the microphone captures everything from subtle acoustic performances to loud environments with clarity and precision. The 150-ohm impedance, 16 dB(A) equivalent noise, and 48V phantom power operation ensure compatibility with professional recording systems.

Physically, the microphone measures 207 mm in length and 42 mm in diameter, weighs 579 g, and is supplied with a comprehensive accessory package including a wooden microphone box, shock mount, hard mount, custom four-channel XLR breakout cable, 3-meter extension cable, and the Soyuz ambisonic plugin license.

By combining precision capsule design, transformer-based analog character, and dedicated spatial processing tools, the Soyuz 013 Ambisonic provides a complete solution for capturing immersive recordings with a single microphone.
