Description

The Serpent Audio SPLICE MKII is a high-quality, single-channel FET compressor built for professional audio production. It supports both mono use and stereo pairing with a second unit. A standout feature of the SPLICE MKII is its ability to switch between classic Blackface and Blue Stripe circuit styles, or combine them to shape unique tonal characteristics. This flexibility makes it suitable for a range of mixing and tracking tasks.

Designed with hands-on control in mind, the unit includes a blend knob for internal parallel compression, a set of stepped compression ratios, and fully variable attack and release settings. Additional tools like sidechain filtering, external sidechain input, and a high-distortion "Slam" mode give engineers creative options for dialing in character and control. With transformer-balanced input and output paths, solid build quality, and intuitive layout, the SPLICE MKII fits seamlessly into a professional workflow.

Features

Classic Compression Modes
Switch between vintage-style Blackface and Blue Stripe circuits or blend both for unique sounds.

Mono or Stereo Operation
Use as a single-channel unit or link two for stereo compression.

All-Analog FET Compression
Delivers punchy and musical dynamic control with a classic analog feel.

Variable Input and Output Controls
Shape the signal gain before and after compression easily.

Stepped Ratio Control
Choose from multiple compression ratios, including a soft bypass mode.

Attack and Release Control
Fine-tune how quickly compression starts and stops for dynamic shaping.

Sidechain High-Pass Filter
Prevent low-end frequencies from over-triggering the compressor.

Built-in Parallel Compression
Blend dry and compressed signals directly using the Mix knob, with no extra routing.

VU Metering with Switchable Modes
View either output level or gain reduction on a traditional VU meter.

Mode Switching with LED Indicators
Instantly see and hear which audio circuit (Blackface or Blue Stripe) is active for input and output.

True Relay Hardwire Bypass
Instantly compare processed and unprocessed audio with no coloration.

External Sidechain Input
Trigger compression using an external source for advanced creative control.

Stereo Link Capability
Link two units together with simple cabling for consistent stereo performance.

Slam Mode (All Buttons In)
Engage high-distortion compression for aggressive sound shaping.

600 Ohm Loading Switch
Optimize output impedance for compatibility with vintage or modern gear.
