Description

The RBDI (Rack Box DI) is a rack-mounted, all-tube Class A direct box and instrument preamp designed for professional studio and stage setups. Built around a high-voltage 12AU7 tube circuit running at 320V, it delivers authentic tube character with natural harmonics, responsive dynamics, and generous headroom. Housed in a slim 1U chassis, it integrates easily into gear racks while offering hands-on control for shaping and refining a wide range of audio sources including guitar, bass, synthesizers, and keyboards.

The RBDI features a Hi-Z input with a selectable HIGH/LOW Gain front end, allowing users to tap different stages of the dual triode tube for varying levels of saturation. Input and output gain controls provide precise control over the signal, ranging from clean warmth to rich, musical overdrive. A true bypass three-band tube EQ enables fine tonal adjustments, while the unique Bright switch responds to gain settings to maintain clarity without harshness. The dedicated reamp input allows playback of recorded tracks through the tube circuitry, giving lifeless or sterile audio a more dimensional and harmonically rich quality. A front-panel REAMP/NORMAL switch simplifies source switching during sessions. Designed with robust components and high-quality construction, the RBDI delivers a dependable, all-in-one solution for tone shaping, reamping, and DI applications.
