Description

The Neumann KK 15 is a supercardioid microphone capsule designed for the Neumann Miniature Clip Mic (MCM) System. Developed for close-miking instruments in demanding live environments, it delivers excellent sound separation, increased resistance to feedback, and a focused, direct sound. Its exceptionally uniform supercardioid pickup pattern makes it particularly effective on loud and crowded stages where isolating individual instruments is essential.

Featuring an innovative layered capsule design, the KK 15 overcomes traditional electret microphone limitations to provide outstanding clarity across critical frequency ranges. Its acoustic consistency closely matches Neumann's KK 14 cardioid and KK 13 omnidirectional capsules, allowing different pickup patterns to be combined within the same performance setup without sacrificing tonal consistency.

Housed in durable titanium, the KK 15 is designed to withstand the demands of touring and frequent live use. Its modular design integrates with the Neumann MCM System, giving musicians and sound engineers the flexibility to choose the pickup pattern that best suits their instruments and stage conditions.

Features

Uniform Supercardioid Pickup Pattern
Provides focused sound capture with excellent rejection of unwanted surrounding sound, making it ideal for close-miking instruments on crowded stages.

High Feedback Resistance
Offers improved gain before feedback compared to cardioid pickup patterns, helping maintain clarity in loud live environments.

Excellent Instrument Separation
Delivers a more direct and isolated sound than the KK 14 cardioid capsule, reducing unwanted pickup from nearby instruments and stage sources.

Layered Capsule Design
Overcomes traditional electret microphone limitations to deliver outstanding clarity across critical frequency ranges.

Consistent Acoustic Performance
Maintains excellent tonal consistency between individual capsules, helping achieve predictable sound quality across multiple microphones.

Compatible Tonality Across MCM Capsules
Shares similar sonic characteristics with the KK 13 omnidirectional and KK 14 cardioid capsules, supporting consistent sound when combining pickup patterns.

Modular MCM System Integration
Works within Neumann's Miniature Clip Mic System, allowing users to select different capsule pickup patterns for specific instruments and stage requirements.

Durable Titanium Construction
Features a robust titanium housing designed to withstand demanding live performances, touring, and frequent handling.

High Sound Pressure Level Handling
Accommodates extremely loud instruments and close-miking applications without compromising the capsule's intended performance.
