Description

The Blackmagic UpDownCross 100G is a high-performance 8-channel video standards converter designed for large-scale SMPTE ST 2110 broadcast environments. Built around native 100G Ethernet connectivity, it can simultaneously convert up to eight independent channels of SD, HD, and Ultra HD video to different formats in real time, making it an ideal solution for broadcast centers, production facilities, live events, and IP-based media infrastructures. Its compact 1RU rackmount design features quiet front-to-back cooling, making it suitable for both machine rooms and production environments where reliability and low noise are important.

Designed for modern IP workflows, the UpDownCross 100G supports SMPTE ST 2110 video, audio, and ancillary data standards while providing up to eight Ultra HD or HD sender and receiver channels over a 100G network connection. It features dual 100G QSFP28 ports with SMPTE ST 2022-7 redundancy, allowing video streams to be protected across separate networks for maximum operational reliability. Support for NMOS discovery and connection management, Precision Time Protocol (PTP) synchronization, and optional Blackmagic IP10 compression ensures seamless integration into professional broadcast infrastructures.

The converter includes a front-panel color display for monitoring video, audio, timecode, and signal status, along with built-in controls for selecting sources, destinations, and system settings. Dedicated headphone monitoring and an integrated speaker allow operators to quickly verify signals without external equipment. Dual internal power supplies and a separate Gigabit Ethernet control connection further enhance reliability, making the UpDownCross 100G a powerful and flexible solution for facilities that need large-scale format conversion within SMPTE-2110 IP production workflows.
