Description

The Genelec 8331A SAM™ Studio Monitor is a revolutionary three-way point source monitor that delivers exceptional precision in an ultra-compact form factor, no larger than a typical two-way design. Ideal for nearfield and small-room setups, this monitor is part of Genelec’s acclaimed “The Ones” series and integrates Smart Active Monitoring (SAM™) and GLM™ room calibration to ensure consistently accurate monitoring regardless of your space.

At its core, the 8331A features two racetrack bass drivers, a 90 mm coaxial midrange, and a 19 mm coaxial metal dome tweeter, all housed in a reflex-loaded, die-cast aluminium enclosure. This unique design, supported by Minimum Diffraction Coaxial (MDC™) and Acoustically Concealed Woofers (ACW™) technologies, provides precise imaging and exceptional off-axis consistency. With a frequency response of 45 Hz – 37 kHz (-6 dB) and a maximum SPL of 104 dB, it delivers clarity and depth well beyond its size.

Internally, the 8331A is powered by 72 W (bass), 36 W (mid), and 36 W (treble) Class D amplifiers, with intelligent crossover points at 500 Hz and 3 kHz. Rear panel connections include XLR analog and AES/EBU digital I/O, plus dual RJ45 ports for GLM network control. Paired with GLM software, it offers automatic calibration, level alignment, and delay compensation which ensures accurate mixes that translate across any playback system.
