Description

The RME ADI-2 Pro EX is a compact, reference-grade AD/DA converter, USB audio interface and dual headphone amplifier designed for both studio and high-quality home audio setups. It combines two channels of analog-to-digital conversion with four channels of digital-to-analog conversion and supports PCM audio at sample rates up to 768 kHz. AES, SPDIF and ADAT connectivity provide flexible integration with digital equipment, while USB Class Compliant operation supports computer and compatible iOS-based workflows. RME’s SteadyClock FS technology helps maintain consistent conversion performance regardless of the quality of an incoming clock signal.

For monitoring and listening, the ADI-2 Pro EX provides two independent Extreme Power headphone outputs capable of driving a wide range of headphone impedances. Its onboard DSP includes a 5-band parametric EQ, adjustable bass and treble, Loudness compensation and five-stage Crossfeed, with separate processing available for its analog input and stereo outputs. A high-resolution IPS display provides level metering, a 30-band spectrum analyzer and status information, while presets allow EQ configurations and complete device setups to be saved for quick recall.

The ADI-2 Pro EX can serve several roles without requiring a complicated setup, including a studio converter, USB DAC, headphone listening system, digital-format converter and measurement-system front end. Its automatic operating mode changes routing according to the connections in use, while the included infrared remote and ADI-2 Remote software provide convenient control away from the front panel. Balanced XLR and TRS analog connections, optical and coaxial digital connectivity, selectable reference levels and flexible signal routing make it suitable for precise recording, monitoring, headphone listening and integration into sophisticated audio systems.

Features
