Description

The Schoeps CCM 2 Parabolic Dish Set is a matched system of an omnidirectional CCM 2 compact microphone and a parabolic dish, built around an OEM dish from Telinga. It is designed for the highest directivity at medium and high frequencies and is aimed at nature recordings, sports broadcasts and sound design.

The microphone position is designed to produce a smooth frequency response, which is unusual for a parabolic system. The response still needs equalizing, and Schoeps offers the free ParabolEQ plugin for this, producing a flat frequency response between 100 Hz and 20 kHz. A Rycote windshield with fur gives strong protection against wind noise.

Schoeps calls the omni the usual microphone for recording with a parabolic dish, since it causes fewer problems with handling noise and wind noise. The dish folds without disassembling the components, and an XLR output in the handle connects the system to a standard microphone cable.

The dish can be folded without disassembling the components, which makes transport easy.
