Description

The Schoeps CCM 2XS is an omnidirectional compact microphone with a diffuse-field equalised capsule. It is designed for placement in a diffuse sound field, at distances in reverberant environments where most of the arriving sound has already been reflected from the room surfaces.

It suits relatively distant placement, for example as a room or ambient microphone, for spaced stereophony and in Decca Tree arrangements. Sound from nearby sources in front of the capsule gets distinctly accented high frequencies, which gives a sound image with special brilliance.

This is the K version, with a permanently attached cable ending in an XLR-3M connector.

Features

Omnidirectional Pattern
An omnidirectional pickup pattern, used for example as an ambient room microphone.

Diffuse-Field Equalised Capsule
The capsule is equalised for placement where the predominant sound is no longer direct. Its integrated frequency response is essentially flat in that placement.

Distant Placement
Useful at relatively distant positions in reverberant environments, such as a room microphone, spaced stereophony or Decca Tree arrangements.

Brilliance for Nearby Sources
High frequencies are distinctly accented when sound arrives from nearby sources in front of the capsule. Used close to a source, this accent becomes clearly audible.

Classic Condenser Design
CCM microphones are classic condenser microphones with no electret and a balanced, low-impedance output. They run on both 12 V and 48 V phantom feed power supplies.

Fixed Cable with XLR-3M
The K version has a permanently attached 5 m cable with an XLR-3M connector.
