Description

The Schoeps CMC 6xt is the HiRes version of the CMC 6 Colette microphone amplifier. With it, the frequency range of all axially-addressed capsules (MK 2 H/S, 21, 22, 4, 41, 5) can be extended up to 40 kHz. This version has an XLR-3M output and a matte gray finish.

Schoeps points to recording with a high sample rate as a particular use, especially with the intent to slow down the recording and reduce its pitch by one or more octaves at a later point, for example for sound design. Attention was paid to a low self-noise above 20 kHz, which maintains a high level of dynamics at high sampling rates.

The amplifier is built with the SCHOEPS RFI Shield and works with P48 or P12 phantom powering. It is used together with an MK capsule to form a complete Colette microphone.
