Description

The Schoeps CMC12SG SET combines the miniature CMC 1 U microphone amplifier with the MK 2S omnidirectional capsule in a compact, matte gray recording package. Its warm room pickup and gentle high-frequency emphasis suit room microphone applications and use within A/B stereo or Decca Tree arrays, particularly in larger recording spaces.

The MK 2S capsule features a moderate response rise above 4 kHz to compensate for high-frequency losses when capturing a greater proportion of reverberant sound. This makes it especially useful near the room’s reverberation radius, where direct and reflected sound contribute equally to the recording.

The compact CMC 1 U provides a balanced XLR output, 12 V or 48 V phantom-power operation, and Schoeps RFI Shield protection against radio-frequency interference. The set includes an SG 20 swivel stand mount, B 5 foam popscreen, and premium case for mounting, protection, and storage.

Features

Omnidirectional Pickup
The MK 2S capsule captures sound from all directions, making it suitable for room recording and spaced microphone arrays.

Gentle High-Frequency Emphasis
A moderate high-frequency rise helps compensate for treble losses when recording a greater proportion of reverberant sound.

Suited to Spacious Recordings
Use as a room microphone or as part of an A/B stereo or Decca Tree array, particularly in larger rooms.

Miniature Microphone Amplifier
The compact CMC 1 U offers a smaller, lighter alternative to the CMC 6 without compromising sonic performance.

Modular Colette Design
The amplifier supports interchangeable MK capsules and Colette active accessories for adapting the microphone to different recording applications.

RF Interference Protection
The Schoeps RFI Shield provides high immunity to radio-frequency interference.

Flexible Phantom Power
Operates with standard phantom power through its balanced XLR connection.

Mounting and Protection Included
An SG 20 swivel stand mount, B 5 foam popscreen, and premium case support setup, transport, and storage.
