Description

The Schoeps CMC 1 U with MK 4V is a Colette-series microphone. A complete Colette-series microphone consists of an MK capsule and a CMC amplifier, and here the MK 4V is a cardioid capsule that is side-addressed. It was created in answer to requests for a cardioid with its main axis along the side.

The MK 4V is useful in the concert hall, and its slight emphasis around 10 kHz helps to improve intelligibility in speech recording. The CMC 1 amplifier is small, about one-third the length and 53% lighter than the CMC 6, and it can be used in place of the CMC 6 where size and weight matter.

The amplifier operates on 48 V or 12 V phantom power and has the SCHOEPS RFI Shield for very high immunity from RF interference. Its output is a balanced, direct-coupled, class-A circuit with an XLR-3M connector.

Balanced class-A output
The balanced, direct-coupled, class-A output is filtered in the ultrasonic range to prevent interference, for example from camera autofocus.
