Switchable Pickup Pattern
The MK 5 offers mechanical switching between omnidirectional and cardioid patterns.

Sliding Lever
The pattern is switched purely mechanically, via a sliding lever on the side of the capsule. The selector should be set definitely to one position or the other, because in-between settings yield undefined results.

One-Diaphragm System
Schoeps calls it a true one-diaphragm system, unique on the microphone market. The cardioid setting maintains its directivity even at the lowest frequencies.

Versatile First Capsule
It can be used in nearly any situation and is often suggested as an initial acquisition.

Miniature Colette Amplifier
The CMC 1 is about one-third the length and 53% lighter than the CMC 6. It is compatible with all components of the Colette system.

XLR-3M Output
The CMC 1 U is the variant with an XLR-3M output connector, analog, 1 channel.

Flexible Phantom Powering
The amplifier operates on 48 V or 12 V phantom power. Current consumption is very low, at 2.0 mA at 48 Volts.

RFI Shield
The SCHOEPS RFI Shield gives very high immunity from RF interference.

Balanced Class-A Output
The output circuit is balanced, direct-coupled and class-A. The output is filtered in the ultrasonic range to prevent interference, for example from camera autofocus.
