Description

This Schoeps Colette set pairs the MK 4V side-addressed cardioid capsule with the CMC 1 L, a miniature microphone amplifier with a Lemo output connector. The MK 4V was created in answer to requests for a cardioid with its main axis along the side.

The CMC 1 L is about one-third the length and 53% lighter than the CMC 6, so the complete microphone suits applications where size and weight matter. It runs on 48 V or 12 V phantom power, draws very little current and has the Schoeps RFI Shield for high immunity from RF interference.

Its directional response is especially well maintained even at higher frequencies, thanks to an acoustically transparent housing, and it sounds somewhat brighter than the MK 4. Its slight emphasis around 10 kHz helps to improve intelligibility in speech recording. Preferred applications are as a spot microphone in the orchestra and in a double MS setup.

Features

Side-Addressed Cardioid
The main axis of the cardioid lies along the side of the capsule.

Mild High-Frequency Elevation
A slight emphasis around 10 kHz helps to improve intelligibility in speech recording.

Stable Directional Response
The acoustically transparent housing keeps the directional response well maintained even at higher frequencies.

Orchestra and Double MS Use
Preferred applications are as a spot microphone in the orchestra and in a double MS setup.

Miniature Lemo Amplifier
The CMC 1 L is the Lemo output version of the CMC 1 and is about one-third the length and 53% lighter than the CMC 6.

Phantom Power Flexibility
It operates on 48 V or 12 V phantom power with very low current consumption.

RF Shielding
The Schoeps RFI Shield gives very high immunity from RF interference.

Clean Class-A Output
The balanced, direct-coupled, class-A output is filtered in the ultrasonic range to prevent interference, for example from camera autofocus.

Colette Compatibility
The amplifier is compatible with all available MK capsules and active Colette accessories.
